Pastor Robert Peiffer, Ph.D.
Born in Lebanon, PA, Bob was baptized into the Evangelical and Reformed Tradition at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ. His educational journey provided a firm foundation for his eventual careers. He earned a B.A. in Communications from Eastern University, an M.Div. from United Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Liturgical History from the University of Notre Dame.
Prior to a career in higher education administration, Bob accumulated some 10 years of ministry experience, serving in various roles such as Pastor of the Burnt Cabins United Methodist Larger Parish, Campus Minister to Bloomsburg University, and Executive Director of the Greater Dayton Council of Churches. Upon retirement from the academy, he returned to parish ministry, a "first love. Currently Bob is living his "third act of life" in service to rural congregations (Center for Rural Ministry at Grove City College), rural fire companies (First Responder Chaplain Corps), and the sacred work of suicide prevention (Rural Minds, Suicide Prevention Alliance).

I enjoy spending time with family and friends but especially with my grandson, Holden and great-nephews, Graysyn and Garrett.
I also think it is important to give back to New Bethel. Found out retirement isn’t for me yet so I work part-time at Dietrich Meats and in my spare time I like to read, do needlework and play computer games.
